Phonics
Each week, the children learn a new sound. This sound comes with a parent guide to support learning at home. If you find yourselves with a spare 5 minutes, it would be lovely if you could have a look at the new sound with your child. In the interest of saving paper, the parent sheets will only be uploaded onto here. There is no requirement to hand in the activity each week. It is up to you if you choose to complete it at home.
Ideas for practising:
- Make sound from playdough
- Hide flashcards/ stick on fridge
- Draw in flour/ sand
- Use a highlighter to find the sound in a magazine
- Games on phonics play
- Make the sound out of objects – cereal, pasta, sticks
- Hunt for things with the sound in around the house/ on a walk
