This half-term our topic is 'Shape it!'
We will focus on:
- Identifying and naming 2D and 3D shapes
- Exploring, building and constructing flat and solid shapes
- Select shapes and collect objects for reasons and specific purposes
- Fitting together puzzles with the correct pieces
- Recognise that 2 objects are the same

Practical Maths Skills
Shape Exploration: shape hunts inside and outside, building with Lego, puzzles, constructing with cubes, cutting and sticking shapes to create pictures, shape printing with paint
Problem-Solving Opportunities: drainpipe challenge - what will fit inside? Blowing up balloons, fixing them up - using different sized plasters to join recycling together, shopping - can you find the tubes, cubes and cuboids? Reflect it - use torches to create shadow shapes
