EcoCode Challenge

Year 5 and 6 coders sharing their certificates

Web of Wonders: Young Coders Spin Eco Solutions at Oxford Brookes!

On Thursday, Mrs Whelan and Mrs Foster took ten Year 5 and 6 children to Oxford Brookes University for the EcoCode Challenge. The children used micro:bits to tackle real-life eco problems, such as measuring the strength of spider silk, understanding how spiders sense weight in their webs, and detecting cosmic rays with lasers. They showcased their coding skills using selection, repetition, variables, and radio signals, impressing everyone with their enthusiasm and representing the school brilliantly.
