Children are issued with a spellings list covering the whole of the half term and the words relate directly to our phonics teaching. Please help your child read and write the words.

We recommend practising spellings in a variety of ways, rewriting the spellings on post-it notes/ whiteboards/ large pieces of paper / with chalk / with paint / in sand / in flour / with different fun pencils or pens.

Children are no longer tested on a weekly basis. Instead, the children will be given time to complete targeted activities to reinforce that week's spelling rules and practise their spellings.
