During Summer 1, we will continue to teach the children in groups based on their knowledge of the level 2, level 3 and level 4 sounds. Using Twinkl Phonics, we will revisit some of the graphemes and phonemes that the children need to practise to ensure that they are confident with recognition when reading. We will play a variety of games to embed the sounds and the tricky words that the children must know and ensure that each child is accessing the Rhino Readers books that are appropriate to their level of understanding. There will be practical activities and some writing opportunities avaialble to the children daily to encourage the development of their literacy skills in preparation for the Year 1 curriculum.
